Wet and windy.
I found Quebec City to be a bit…soggy.
Before the heavy rains.
Just like when we visited Toronto, a big storm hit shortly after our arrival. We tried to not let the weather affect our sightseeing. We even bought those silly rain ponchos from the souvenir shop!
Eventually, we had to admit defeat. Touring a city in the wet is just not very pleasant, especially if you’re not equipped with galoshes.
Still, it was very evident that Quebec City is a charming place.
The next morning we hopped in the car and did a bit of a marathon drive back to Oakville. Our Canadian roadtrip was nearly at its end.

First, I’m sorry I haven’t been able to comment more on these posts! I am loving reading about your summer Canadian adventure, but internet here in China has been rough at times. When it works at all, it is slooooow and plenty of stuff won’t load at all. But thankfully your blog still does!
Looks like you had fun in Quebec, though I’m sorry the weather didn’t cooperate more. That said, it’s an easy place to like in the summer, but the winter? That’s another story? I lived in Toronto for 18 years and considered going to McGill for university… the winter I went to visit was so brutal, I couldn’t deal AND, I kid you not, the weather forecast on the tv said “going outside may result in death.” So yeah, Quebec is fun in the summer, but alas, summer is only a few months!
Dominic found a job listing in Quebec that I am urging him to apply for. He doesn’t speak French, but it wasn’t a requirement for the position. Now that I’ve seen these pictures I want him to apply even more!
It is a charming place! I liked the old part of the city, but the rest not so much. I also took a tour of the interior of the hotel which was pretty cool.
We only stayed in the old part on purpose. I’m happy to pretend that’s all there is! 😉
